Door County Pulse summer internships (paid)
Two internships are available for applications at the Door County Pulse: The 2022 Entertainment and Outdoors Internship, and the News Intern Internship.
Applications are due Feb 1, 2022.
Internships run May-August, on-site, in the Pulse office in Bailey’s Harbor, Door County, WI. Both are paid positions: $12.50/hr for 40 hours/week.
The 2022 Entertainment and Outdoors Internship requires you to have fun, try new things, and explore Door County’s beaches, natural wonders, nightlife, and its vibrant arts and culture. One day you might kayak down the Sturgeon Bay ship canal, capture the scene with photos, and write about your experience. The next day you’ll be capturing the scene at Door County Brewing Co. when a nationally touring honky tonk act takes the stage. And then, you write about it for a readership.

The 2022 News Intern Internship will apply what you’re learning at your college paper while earning real-life experience and clips covering local news, politics, government and community events. We’re looking for a motivated, curious individual with solid writing skills and great curiosity.
You’ll learn what it takes to find and report and write the stories that inform the public about their community and the people who live there. You’ll report on everything from municipal meetings, to news features to profiles on the good things people are doing through volunteerism or public service.
Our interns will also gain experience working with our video team, producing podcasts, taking photographs and gaining social media and digital skills. You’ll do it all in an office located on the shore of Lake Michigan in Baileys Harbor on a peninsula whose natural beauty draws tens of thousands of visitors annually.
